It took more than courage for Motsepe to disclose her status, even though she knew the effects of going public, the stigma did not control who she was and what she became.

In celebration of the late Lesego Motsepe’s life, today a memorial service will be held in Auckland Park at SABC studios, where many will gather to remember the courageous actress.

She was famously known as Letti Matabane a character she played for 10 years on SABC 3’s soapie Isidingo.

Motsepe’s death pierced many hearts, however her role and contribution live on.

Here are 10 encouraging words that this phenomenal woman lived on as well as shared with her followers on Twitter.

 “If you were to ask me where all this courage comes from, I would say only God knows.”

As a former HIV/AIDS ambassador, she took on life positively.

She was was infected with the virus 13 years ago and lived a positive life full of hope.

“HIV/Aids is not a death sentence, once contracted the most important factor in your life is acceptance and living a healthy lifestyle.”

It took more than courage for Motsepe to disclose her status, even though she knew the effects of going public, the stigma did not control who she was and what she became.

HIV/AIDS Ambassador and former Isidingo actress Lesego Motsepe Motsepe chose to live life to the fullest and gave hope to many.

  • “Enough is enough… Our society had made this virus a monster and all it is, is a virus. I'm doing it for the voiceless people out there who just found out today, and know that I've got their back.”

It’s been announced that Motsepe will be laid to rest on Saturday. Lessons learned from her teaches us to strive to live life and embrace who we are.
