REEVA Steenkamp suffered gunshot wounds to the head - above the right ear - hip and elbow, a shot which broke her arm, the Pretoria Magistrate's Court heard yesterday.

Paralympian Oscar Pistorius was again emotional yesterday on the second day of his bail application and sat sobbing with his head bowed through most of the proceedings.

Pistorius is accused of killing his model girlfriend in the early hours of February 14 in his Pretoria home.

The prosecution, led by Advocate Gerrie Nel, called Warrant Officer Hilton Botha, the investigating officer, to testify.

Botha said he arrived at Pistorius's Pretoria home at 4.15am on the morning of February 14.

"I found the deceased lying on the floor and she was already declared dead by paramedics," Botha said.

He said she was wearing white shorts and a black vest and was covered by a towel.

A plan of the house was shown on a screen to indicate where Pistorius was when he fired the shots and where Steenkamp was when she was shot.

One cartridge was found in the passage and three in the bathroom.

"According to me the accused was in the bathroom," Botha said.

Botha testified to speaking to a neighbour who claimed to have heard a number of shots fired, screaming, and then more or less three more shots fired.

"Is there evidence that there was more than four shots fired?" defence attorney Barry Roux asked.

Botha said no.

Botha also said another neighbour claimed to have heard loud talking between 2am and 3am that would indicate an argument.

He said the neighbour did not say it was Pistorius and Steenkamp she had heard speaking loudly and could also not confirm the voices came from Pistorius's house.

The neighbour, the court heard, lived about 600metres from Pistorius's house.

Roux asked whether Steenkamp's body showed any signs of defensive wounds, and Botha said no.

On Tuesday, the state said Pistorius put on his prosthetic legs and then shot Steenkamp.

Pistorius disputed this in his sworn statement.

"You don't have any facts that he attached, before the shooting, his prosthesis," Roux said to Botha.

The state contended that the deliberate firing of shots aimed at the toilet seat proved their version.

"There is no substance to show he deliberately aimed at the toilet seat," Roux argued.

Botha also said testosterone (steroids) and a needle were found in the bathroom cabinet.

According to Roux, it was testoconpasupium coenzyme, a herbal remedy that many athletes used.

"It is not a steroid," he said.
