'She allegedly wanted R40,000 to help a company get a tender'

A Limpopo agriculture official accused of soliciting a bribe appeared in the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, the Hawks said.

Mabel Baloyi, 31, a procurement officer at the agriculture department in Modimolle, would be back in court on February 20, Captain Paul Ramaloko said.

She allegedly solicited a bribe from a prospective service provider tendering to supply the department with paper.

Baloyi was arrested on Tuesday, allegedly on her way to collect half of a R40,000 bribe.

NO! A Limpopo official soliciting a bribe? That can't be true. They never do that!

Geez, same k@k, different date. Lets just hope she gets jail time and not just a slap on the wrist then re-deployment to another department.

Only in Limpopo.

That province should belong to Zimbabwe...such corruption cannot be tolerated here, no...not here. They can do it somewhere else...not here.

Why cant goverment buy its own papers from the suppliers instead of creating an ANC member to benefit. These procurement officers should be buying all these straight from the suppliers.
