Five of KZN's most wanted arrested

"In the early hours of Thursday, police arrested five most wanted suspects aged between 28 and 83 (SUBS: CORR) who had terrorised the community in different policing areas," Captain Thulani Zwane said.

Five of the most wanted criminals in KwaZulu-Natal were arrested on Thursday, police said.

"In the early hours of Thursday, police arrested five most wanted suspects aged between 28 and 83 (SUBS: CORR) who had terrorised the community in different policing areas," Captain Thulani Zwane said.

The men had allegedly been on the run for three months and were found hiding in the Nsuze, Bhamshela, Ntuzuma and Tongaat areas.

They were wanted for crimes such as murder and attempted murder, hijacking, and business and house robbery, Zwane said.

Four unlicensed 9mm pistols were allegedly found in their possession. Two of the weapons had been stolen in Umhlali and Tongaat.

The five would appear in the Ndwedwe Magistrate's Court on Friday on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Other cases allegedly linked to the men were still being investigated.
