Three train carriages were set alight in Mlamlankunzi railway station last night in Orlando East, Soweto, Johannesburg emergency services said.
"It is a deliberate fire, it was not by accident," spokesman Robert Mulaudzi said.

On Tuesday night, three carriages were also set on fire at the Merafe railway station in Soweto. No injuries were reported as a result.
"The carriages were totally, totally burnt out. It looks like they were set alight."
It appeared that a commuter was responsible for the fire, Mulaudzi said.
