Former US President Bill Clinton says he's trying to get more support for a charity he helped found that provides training for impoverished South African school children in hopes they can carve out a better future for themselves.

Clinton said Sunday the charity wants to fill gaps that state services cannot meet by attracting private funding and volunteers.
“I hope to get more support and make it bigger,” he said during a visit to a youth centre in the Soweto township outside Johannesburg on his first day of a tour through several African countries.
The City Year charity was launched by former South African President Nelson Mandela and Clinton in 2005. It provided after-school care for 23,000 children since then.
Clinton expects to meet Mandela on Tuesday, a day before he celebrates his 94th birthday.

I remember staying up all night during their election crossing my fingers for him - Bill - to win. Os courfe, I did the same thing when Barack Obama was representing the Democrats. Unlike, Bill I never thought Obama will pull it through. Obama is going to need all the support he can muster from the Clintons to crack the upcoming (re)election(s).
