TENSIONS are high at the Port Elizabeth's New Law Court where a former mayor, who is now a court interpreter, was allegedly beaten up in the office of his supervisor, who took exception to office "gossip".

But Mr Former Mayor why did you not lay criminal charges against this man? Wena Mr Jonas why did you not charge Mr Former Mayor for misconduct if there was any untoward behaviour from him? How did a court interpreter become mayor to begin with ? I am not looking down on interpreters, but surely a mayor must have proven administrative, business and financial skills ? Report Abuse
