Sex video cops may be removed from service
Cops in hot water for allegedly soliciting a bribe from a couple they recorded having sex
MPUMALANGA police say they view charges against two constables who allegedly shot a video of a couple having sex in the veld in a serious light.
The two policemen also allegedly demanded a bribe and are alleged to have threatened to sell the video.
The 43-second movie has gone viral on the social networks.
The two constables were arrested at the weekend and appeared in the Evander Magistrate's Court on charges of extortion, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
Constables Johannes Mandla Mnisi, 31, and Petros Sipho Ndala, 35, both stationed in Evander, were released on free bail.
"The free bail has nothing to do with police. These are serious allegations. It breaks the ethical conduct. Police are not supposed to do these things. It tarnishes the SAPS image," Lieutenant Colonel Leonard Hlathi said.
"The two will face an internal disciplinary hearing and criminal charges. The disciplinary hearing will decide whether they should be kept in the force or be dismissed."
In the video taken on October 5, the man and woman are having sex next to their car.
The woman is the first to see the police officer filming them. She screams.
The woman jumps up and runs towards the car as she pulls down her skirt.
The other officer is just standing there. The woman says: "Sixolele, siyanicela tu. Forgive us, please."
"Hawu ndoda enkulu, ukwenzelani lokhu? (... why are you doing this?)," the man asks.
The woman tells her boyfriend to offer the officers money. One of the cops says: "Iyothengiswa le. (This one is going to be sold.")
"Siyanicela tu. Sizonipha imali. (We are begging you. We'll give you money)," the woman pleads.
The woman is also heard saying: "Babomncane banike imali. (give them money, uncle)."
Hlathi said the officers were allegedly given R1,000.
"The man did not have the full amount. The officers kept the woman and told him to go find the rest of the money and he would then come and get his girlfriend.
"He did so. That is where the kidnapping charges come in," Hlathi said.
He said the couple opened the case a few days later.
"When the officers heard that a case had been opened, they went to the man and gave him his money back," Hlathi said.

What is wrong with the reporter - why say allegedly - they clearly committed the crime. I know the case is before the courts but the reporter could have said that on the video they are heard or seen doing this. Anyway these feral cops don't belong in the public service. I hope their exploits in prison are videoed and put on the net.Report Abuse
