Shop owner sustained burn wounds

Four armed men set fire to a shop owner’s arm during a robbery in Greytown, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Friday.

They entered the premises on Durban Road, held the shop owner at gunpoint and demanded cash on Thursday at 11.30am, Colonel Jay Naicker said.

“It is further alleged that the suspects doused petrol over the victim’s arm and set him alight, forcing him to disclose where the money was kept.”

The robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.

The shop owner sustained burn wounds.

No arrests had been made.
