Long jail terms for teen rape

Girl aged 11 years was attacked by men aged 23 and 33

Two men were jailed on Thursday by the East London High Court for the rape of an 11-year-old girl, Eastern Cape police said.

Lieutenant-Colonel Mtati Tana said Nkosinathi Booi, 33, and Sinethemba Gwadi, 23, were each sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment for raping the girl at Fort Grey informal settlement in February 2010.

“The men forced the girl to drink liquor before they raped her,” Tana said.
