A BAKKIE transporting bees hit a cow outside Kroonstad in Free State, injuring two people, paramedics said

Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said a father and son were transporting honeybees in crates at the time of the accident on the R721 on Monday evening.

"Netcare 911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find both men in a serious condition," Wicks said.

"Both men were transported in a stable condition to the Netcare Kroon Hospital for treatment. Luckily no one was stung and medics managed to clear all the bees from their ambulances."
