The body of the Naledi local municipality’s manager was found near Ladybrand after he was reported missing over the weekend, Free State police said today
Thami Tukani, 48, was found in the veld next to the N8, about five kilometres from Ladybrand, on Monday, Colonel Thandi Mbambo said.
Tukani was last seen on Thursday.
On Saturday, a family friend saw his car abandoned next to the N8.
A formal missing person’s report was filed on Sunday.
Mbambo said the file was handed to the Hawks in Bloemfontein.
They found the body near the car around 1pm on Monday.
Police said Tukani had no visible injuries and his car was not tampered with.
Tukani was identified on Tuesday.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
