Man wanted after murder of his lover

22-year-old mom was shot while carrying her five-month-old daughter

POLICE are no closer to finding the man who allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend last year.

Thembesile Mhlongo, 22, was shot while carrying her five-month-old daughter in Joubert Park, Johannesburg, on September 21.

The suspect is believed to be Bongani Roy Buthelezi, the child's father.

Police spokeswoman captain Pinky Tsinyane said: "We have so far not been able to trace him and are appealing to the community to help us find him.

"Buthelezi has reportedly been seen at Nancefield Hostel in Soweto, Durban train station and also in Umlazi. Buthelezi is originally from Nkandla in KwaZulu-Natal."

Mhlongo's father Siphiwe said: "I had pleaded with her to end their relationship and she did not listen. It seems like she was trapped in that relationship".
