The 41-year-old student policeman who allegedly shot 16-year-old Thato Mokoka was arrested on Friday, the Independent Complaints Directorate said.

“The arrest has been carried out,” said ICD spokesman Moses Dlamini.

Mokoka was shot and killed on Tuesday evening outside his grandmother Sybil Mokoka’s home in Bramfischerville Phase Two, Soweto.

Dobsonville police raided the boy’s home after neighbours told them he had an unlicensed gun.
