FORTUNATE: Injuries are minor to moderate

Eighteen school children were injured when their minibus taxi was hit by a bakkie in De Deur, south of Johannesburg, this morning, paramedics said.

“The 18 children, all aged between seven and 10... suffered minor to moderate injuries only, and paramedics assessed and treated them all at the scene,” ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said.

The bakkie crashed into the side of the taxi and pushed it off the road.

The taxi driver and the bakkie’s two occupants were also injured. The children and the three adults were taken to various hospitals.
