A man was killed after stabbing his ex-girlfriend several times during a fight near Seshego, Limpopo police said on Monday.
The 19-year-old girl was with her boyfriend in Ga-Makgakga village on Sunday afternoon when her ex-boyfriend, 21, approached her, Warrant Officer Mothemane Malefo said.
“He asked to see her separately and an argument broke out between the two lovers. The 21-year-old man pulled out a knife and stabbed the 19-year-old woman in the upper body.”
The woman’s new boyfriend then allegedly hacked the ex-boyfriend several times with a panga. He died on the scene.
Police arrested the boyfriend and charged him with murder. He was expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court later on Monday.
The woman was admitted to a local hospital in a serious condition.
