KWAITO singer Nomasonto "Mshoza" Mnisi is expected to be discharged from hospital today.

Mshoza was on Monday admitted to the intensive care unit of the Life Cosmos Hospital in eMalahleni (Witbank) after she allegedly tried to kill herself by overdosing on tablets.

Alex Matsimane, spokesman for Mshoza's husband, Jacob, said she was recovering well and was expected to be released today.

"Yesterday (Tuesday) she was able to feed herself but doctors wanted to keep her overnight for further observation," Matsimane said.

He rubbished allegations - which were posted on social networks - that the couple planned to get divorced. He claimed that they were "temporarily not living together" and added that Jacob had left the matrimonial home on Friday.

"I can confirm that Baba Mnisi has moved out of their house in Witbank and is staying by himself in another place. Like any other couple they have challenges in their marriage.

"He has no intention of divorcing his wife. Mnisi still loves his family, his wife and his children. He was not happy with some of the things that MamMnisi was doing, so he decided to move out to give his wife some space," Matsimane said.

He further dismissed allegations that Mshoza had left her home or that she had been seen with another man in Soweto, claiming: "I'm hearing this for the first time."
