Stabbing at Cape school

Five youths have been arrested for allegedly stabbing two pupils and assaulting another at a school in Claremont, Cape Town

Three pupils were about to leave the premises of Livingstone High School on Wednesday at 2pm when five youths arrived in a white  Opel Kadett, said Warrant Officer November Filander.

A heated argument ensued between the two groups and the youths allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old pupil with their fists.

“They then stabbed two other teenagers, both aged 18, with knives before driving away.

“After police were alerted to the incident, they chased the vehicle and ordered the driver to pull over. He complied after a short chase and they were all arrested.”

Filander said the cause of their quarrel was not known.

The suspects, aged between 15 and 20, were charged with assault and attempted murder.

They are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
