New life for 3 orphans

Joseph Mhlanga, 18, and his siblings had been crammed into a one-roomed shack since the death of their parents

LIMPOPO MEC for local government and housing Soviet Lekganyane was warmly received by the Homu 14B community in Giyani, where he participated in the building of three houses as part yesterday's Mandela Day celebrations.

Lekganyane and his entourage were applauded by the delighted community.

"We are on the right track to build better houses for the impoverished people in our country," Lekganyane told villagers, after he and local people had finished building a house for three Mhlanga orphans whose parents died three years ago.

Lekganyane said the houses they were building were bigger and more decent.
