44 protesters appear in court over muthi protest

A TOTAL of 44 people have appeared in the Madikwe magistrate's court in connection with recent protests in Tlokweng village in North West, police said

All of them were charged with public violence and malicious damage to property.

The violent protests were sparked by the alleged ritual killing of Thabiso Moloi at the end of May.

Residents went on the rampage after his funeral.

All the accused are out on warning and would appear in court again on Friday.
