The South African politics are deteriorating into a hip hop and kwaito kind of politics. Politicians are no longer wooing electorate by presenting their policies and selling them to the electorate, they are now wooing the electorate by attacking each other in how one dresses, labelling others as madams, how one dances and all these nonsense. I think the political parties, more especially, the ruling party must spend most of its electioneering time explaining to us as to what is that which they promised the voters before now, what were the successes and faiures and how they intend remedying the failures and be honest, instead of engaging in hip-hop politics. Yah, the African National Congress has delivered to the masses. It has been at the strategic forefront of liberating all South Africans. Its history can be traced back as far as the 1900, a party formed by religious ministers. The bottom line is it’s an all but certainty that the ANC will indeed win most wards and provinces around the country no one can dispute this.. However this is not the problem I have with this story, the problem I have is the basic ideals of democracy being subjugated here. Democracy and democratic rule thrives on competition, strong competition equals a strong democracy. Just once I would like to see a political heavy weight come out during his/her election campaigning and say: we are such and such and we are her to compete to help make this country a better place, may the best and most prepared party win. the reality is that South Africa is divide along the color line. in the work place, in business, in the financial sector(think interest rates and insurance quotations that blacks get vs whites ), on the roads (whites always try to block a black man when he tries to change lanes) , at schools(we all know about discrimination), at tertiary institutions(think university of stellenbosch,university of pretoria,potch,uofs ) and other areas of life, why should politics be different.

remember electing a government is like employing a person, those who think it is stupid to elect a government based on race, what do they think about hiring a person based on race, because that is exactly what is happening all over the work place.
jobs for pals was invented by the white community, many very competant blacks cry about being overlooked for positions or getting paid less than a white colleque for equivalent work, so many people cant cry about nothing.

i remember in those days when I was very young and a police van with white police men in it crashed while chasing and shooting blacks around the township and a mob of blacks aproached the van and started rocking the van, for some unknown reason those white in the van could no longer shoot at blacks,instead of setting the van alight, the mob decided to just rock the van and scare the racist police, until two more vans came and blacks started running again.
people in the townships very rarely killed a racist police man who came to terrorize them, even the swart ruggens murderer's family is still living in peace after their son killed what they have taught him to treat as animals.

All the ANC has done wrong is placing incompetent people in top demanding position which they can deal with if given the chance. Just yesterday, the City of Cape Town just opened way for the Intergrated Rapid Transport (IRT) to operate but ONLY in the city centre. Why now and not into the townships? The ANC's BRT operates between the townships and JHB and its surbubs.
Like Malema said recently, people should not completely complain about houses because most of the people who are complaining are the same people who when given RDP house, they sell them to the foreigners and move back to the squatter camps. I think you are mistaken on this affirmation. Most people who are supporting the ANC including my self are aware, of the current situation in the ANC – but the puzzle is: who to replace, and the danger we for see is that, white bloggers are all blogging in one voice and that is DA for them, I haven’t seen a white blogger choosing any other party and that’s to me is clearly that the election is about the race card, it always has been even In dying days of Apartheid white supported their own, remember that the supporters of the NP have shifted to DA, this shows that the election is about race card. even in ’94 whites never supported a black party. As to if DA in power brings back apartheid, it could not be so, but blacks will gain nothing from it, and I can support it with research I made back in the ’90 even in the white churches, the tune is no vote for black party.

The DA is multicultural and they work for the people not themselves. Like it or not they have more integrity than the ANC.
There are many blacks who if they went into politics would have white followers - get Moletsi Mbeki into government and he's got my vote. Even he didn't agree with the ANC - what does that tell you?
You know Sibusy, the best thing about a democracy is that if the government doesn't perform you kick them out.
Don't vote on skin colour alone, vote on service delivery and action.
The ANC have proven they don't deliver unless it suits them - they are greedy corrupt and self serving.
Give another party a chance and see what it delivers. If you don't like it vote them out!
You say blacks cannot benefit from the DA being in power - I think you are wrong. Many have and are whereas there is a guarantee that whites will never benefit under the ANC and a limited number of connected blacks will.

Wherever mankind has gone, the strong have over powered the weak and inflicted damage. This has happened in Africa too, where migrating tribes have done exactly the same.
Even today, all over Africa there are tribes and religious groups who fight for dominance over others, and once they taste power refuse to bow to the will of the people, preferring to destroy rather than let go. Killing any and all who appear to pose any threat. Just look over the borders if evidence is needed.
It is not unique to European behaviour, it is human behaviour. (or inhumane would be more accurate)
We are seeing government from different perspectives - you don't trust the white and I don't trust the ANC as both have proven themselves unworthy, the Nats in the past and the ANC now.
I do not see the DA as super human nor as the answer to everything. I do however see them as a better option to the present encumbents who are dragging the country down with their greed and maladministration, instead of making it grow and helping to uplift those in need.
This is not my perspective only, it is a reality reported by the media daily and acknowledged by many here and in positions of power elsewhere.
We are indeed a very sick country, full of hypocrisy and racial discord which is being fanned by Malema who shouts his mouth off but surrounds himself with bodyguards!
The ANC has lost its way but many blacks would rather keep them in power and watch the hyenas from the sidelines, than take a chance that a multicultural party could offer something better for everybody.
I've noticed a tendency amongst many here to hurl insults at anyone who has a different point of view. Mostly it is a gut reaction rather than a well thought out response. Instead of engaging another person and finding out where they are coming from and perhaps finding a common meeting ground, we are subjected to childish racial insults between the races but even have those insulting people who are seen to have 'crossed over'.
Lindiwe Mazibuko as an example. A really delightful lady who, in time will I think be a very big player in SA politics. Not because she is a coconut but because she strives for something better (different) to what the past has offered.
One cannot get ahead by constantly pulling others down

The bottom line is it’s an all but certainty that the ANC will indeed win most wards and provinces around the country no one can dispute this.. However this is not the problem I have with this story, the problem I have is the basic ideals of democracy being subjugated here. Democracy and democratic rule thrives on competition, strong competition equals a strong democracy. why do people like to separate politics from daily life in South Africa?the reality is that South Africa is divide along the color line. in the work place, in business, in the financial sector(think interest rates and insurance quotations that blacks get vs whites ), on the roads (whites always try to block a black man when he tries to change lanes) , at schools(we all know about discrimination), at tertiary institutions(think university of stellenbosch,university of pretoria,potch,uofs ) and other areas of life, why should politics be different.

i remember in those days when I was very young and a police van with white police men in it crashed while chasing and shooting blacks around the township and a mob of blacks aproached the van and started rocking the van, for some unknown reason those white in the van could no longer shoot at blacks,instead of setting the van alight, the mob decided to just rock the van and scare the racist police, until two more vans came and blacks started running again.
people in the townships very rarely killed a racist police man who came to terrorize them, even the swart ruggens murderer's family is still living in peace after their son killed what they have taught him to treat as animals.

Black brothers and sisters, let's not forget where we are coming from because that will help us project our destination. It's a fact that not even one of us wants the apartheid system to be back. All the ANC has done wrong is placing incompetent people in top demanding position which they can deal with if given the chance. In the opposite hand, the DA has just shown disrespect to non-white (blacks) of this country by taking decisions which are inhuman and disgusting against us. They (DA) are talking about service delivery yet they have done nothing for the communities which are under the municipalities they are running but only for where the majority of the white people are residing.Just yesterday, the City of Cape Town just opened way for the Intergrated Rapid Transport (IRT) to operate but ONLY in the city centre. Why now and not into the townships? The ANC's BRT operates between the townships and JHB and its surbubs.
Like Malema said recently, people should not completely complain about houses because most of the people who are complaining are the same people who when given RDP house, they sell them to the foreigners and move back to the squatter camps. Yes, let's root out corruption and incompetent leadership but ANC has not failed and can make everyone's life much better if voted for.

I will NOT give my vote to ANY party that chows my tax!
Nobody likes paying tax but we have to. This tax must be used to improve the country and uplift the poor, not with grants but job opportunities so they too can pay tax and spread the burden.
If you are happy for the ANC to chow your money that's your democratic right but wouldn't you rather see the tax being used properly, than going to enrich the lives of the connected who abuse their positions on top of getting fat (undeserved) salaries and perks.

I think you are mistaken on this affirmation. Most people who are supporting the ANC including my self are aware, of the current situation in the ANC – but the puzzle is: who to replace, and the danger we for see is that, white bloggers are all blogging in one voice and that is DA for them, I haven’t seen a white blogger choosing any other party and that’s to me is clearly that the election is about the race card, it always has been even In dying days of Apartheid white supported their own, remember that the supporters of the NP have shifted to DA, this shows that the election is about race card. even in ’94 whites never supported a black party. As to if DA in power brings back apartheid, it could not be so, but blacks will gain nothing from it, and I can support it with research I made back in the ’90 even in the white churches, the tune is no vote for black party.
DA is a white party, blacks are there to confuse black voters , but it is definitely a black party.
So I would say if black people vote DA, it will be a terrible blunder

We had the referendum in 1992 (?) where the majority of white voters voted for change. They had never been given that opportunity before but when able to, voted for change as in power sharing which meant the end of apartheid and the NP.

Wherever mankind has gone, the strong have over powered the weak and inflicted damage. This has happened in Africa too, where migrating tribes have done exactly the same.
Even today, all over Africa there are tribes and religious groups who fight for dominance over others, and once they taste power refuse to bow to the will of the people, preferring to destroy rather than let go. Killing any and all who appear to pose any threat. Just look over the borders if evidence is needed.
It is not unique to European behaviour, it is human behaviour. (or inhumane would be more accurate)
We are seeing government from different perspectives - you don't trust the white and I don't trust the ANC as both have proven themselves unworthy, the Nats in the past and the ANC now.
I do not see the DA as super human nor as the answer to everything. I do however see them as a better option to the present encumbents who are dragging the country down with their greed and maladministration, instead of making it grow and helping to uplift those in need.
This is not my perspective only, it is a reality reported by the media daily and acknowledged by many here and in positions of power elsewhere.
We are indeed a very sick country, full of hypocrisy and racial discord which is being fanned by Malema who shouts his mouth off but surrounds himself with bodyguards!
The ANC has lost its way but many blacks would rather keep them in power and watch the hyenas from the sidelines, than take a chance that a multicultural party could offer something better for everybody.
I've noticed a tendency amongst many here to hurl insults at anyone who has a different point of view. Mostly it is a gut reaction rather than a well thought out response. Instead of engaging another person and finding out where they are coming from and perhaps finding a common meeting ground, we are subjected to childish racial insults between the races but even have those insulting people who are seen to have 'crossed over'.
Lindiwe Mazibuko as an example. A really delightful lady who, in time will I think be a very big player in SA politics. Not because she is a coconut but because she strives for something better (different) to what the past has offered.
One cannot get ahead by constantly pulling others down
Sibusy, thank you for engaging with me in the manner you have. It is refreshing to interact with someone and be given the opportunity to express feelings without BS and insults.
