Cable theft caused a delay in train services in some parts of Gauteng on Tuesday, Metrorail said.
The cables were apparently stolen at Lerala station on the East Rand in the early hours of the morning, spokesman Tony Games said.
Trains travelling between Lerala and Tembisa, as well as between Pretoria and Johannesburg were affected.
“We are attending to the problem and the trains will be running as usual later in the afternoon,” he said.
