Gift of 6 sheep for Mandela

FREE State officials will today visit Qunu in Eastern Cape to give former president Nelson Mandela a present.

MEC for agriculture and rural development Mosebenzi Zwane will lead a delegation to give him a ram and five ewes.

Department spokesman Life Mokone said  Zwane would act on behalf of Free State premier Ace Magashule in delivering the gift to Mandela.

"This gift from Free State is in recognition of the trials and tribulations suffered by and imposed on Mandela and his people by the apartheid regime. This is a symbol of peace, unity and prosperity for Mandela who chose a peaceful solution."
