CRY FOR HELP: Masabatha Mokobane with one of her children.

A LIMPOPO-BASED Lesotho woman, who is struggling to feed herself and her two children, can not apply for a child support grant because she does not have an identity document.

Masabatha Mokobane, 32, from Leribe in Lesotho, came to GaWally village in Bolobedu, Limpopo, with her husband Mpho Mashatola.

The couple moved to Limpopo after her husband was retrenched three years ago. Mokobane also has two other children from a previous marriage. They currently live with relatives in Lesotho.

Mokobane told Sowetan that she wanted to return to Lesotho and that her husband had given her the green light to do so "because nothing was going right for me and my children in South Africa".

But Mokobane does not have money to return home. She said for her to return to Lesotho with her two children would cost about R2000.

"I appeal to a Good Samaritan and angels of mercy to assist me and my children to return to Lesotho since my husband is unemployed," she pleaded.

Mokobane currently receives food parcels and other forms of assistance from members of Maphutha Community Development Drop-in Centre in Bolobedu.

According to Maphutha Centre manager Rosina Shokane they had taken Mokobane's case up with the relevant authorities but had not managed to get her the necessary help.

Shokane appealed to anyone who might help the family to contact her on 078-728-5310 or Emily Sekgodiso on 079-135-7010.
