Celebs support fur free SA

Did you know that millions of cats, dogs and other fur animals such as fox, mink and rabbit are raised for their fur worldwide?

Their short lives are spent in horrendous conditions (in unbearably small, barren, filthy cages with no sanitation) and are subjected to violent handling and inhumane transport before being clubbed, strangled or electrocuted to death and most often skinned alive for their fur.

It is because of this abuse that Jenna Clifford along with Fur Free South Africa have combined their efforts to raise awareness here at home.

Ms Clifford has designed a unique sugar spoon, which the purchase of said, means that you pledge never to wear fur again.  The spoon priced at R205 is available online at http://www.furfree.net/jenna-clifford.html

What makes the situation even more dire is that unfortunately there are no 'good' fur  farms anywhere. Fur animals trapped in steel-jaw traps sometimes spend days bleeding to death, and often gnaw their own limbs off in an effort to free themselves. All these facts are carefully concealed or glossed over by the fur industry. Fur harvested in this way is exported globally – including to South Africa – as complete garments and as fur trim on jackets, toys etc.
