Teenagers face a charge of murder

Teen boys accused of fatally stabbing a man (aged 59)

THREE teenage boys are expected to face a charge of murder in the Randfontein magistrate's court on Monday.

The teenagers appeared in court on Monday for the murder of Petrus Modise at Dwarskloof, Randfontein.

Modise, 59, was killed last Friday.

The case was postponed to Monday for further investigation.

The three teenagers were remanded in custody.

Captain Appel Ernst said "the incident took place on Friday just before 12 midday on a plot in an agricultural area in Dwarskloof.

"The three suspects allegedly attacked the man and stabbed him a couple of times.

"He died at the scene from his injuries. The three were later arrested and taken to Kagiso police station for questioning but because they are minors, they were taken to a place of safety.

"They will remain there until their next court appearance," Ernst said.

  • In another murder, also in Dwarskloof, Ernst said a seven-year-old girl was allegedly murdered on Sunday. Two men appeared in the Randfontein magistrate's court yesterday on a charge of murder. They were also remanded in custody.
