Black-tie magazine launch for ANC youth league

ANC Youth League strongman Floyd Shivambu launched his much-talked about glossy magazine, Loocha, amidst glitz and glamour on the eve of Youth Day

The black-tie shiding held at Kyalami Castle attracted the who's who
in the social scene. Ladies came in their Sunday best to impress. Unfortunately, the guest list did not live up to expectation.

There was not a large number of BEE men to impress as expected.

Shivambu's comrades including Zizi Kodwa, who usually likes a good party, were strangely absent.

Not even Julius Malema, who graces the cover page of the magazine, came to the
launch, to the disappointment of many who were expecting to see him.

The guest list did however boast celebs like Penny Lebyane, Kenny Kunene, Zizo Beda, Sonia and Mathew Booth, Sophie Ndaba and businesswoman Thandi Masondo.

Nonhle Thema and TBO Touch, who are columnists in the magazine, shared the MC'ing duties.

Also in attendance was Khanyi Mbau who seemed to have lost her bling. She cut a lonely figure as her friends including Kunene avoided her like a demon the whole night.

The parking lot was filled with the latest car models from German machines to the Japanese wheels.

The magazine has not hit the streets yet but it has not received good reviews from a few who have seen it. Some journalists and critics said it was boring and needed some va va voom.

The magazine will hit the streets next week and will cost R9.

"We want to celebrate the youth and make their dreams come true through this magazine that says the truth. We aim at imparting knowledge of different kind," said Shivambu. He told the guests that the next issue will feature a young Nelson Mandela.
