A 16-year-old boy is accused of raping a 3-year-old girl
He was arrested early on Tuesday morning in Moleleki Extension Two, Katlehong, police said.
Captain Mega Ndobe said the child had complained to her mother, who took her to hospital where the rape was confirmed.
The mother reported the incident to police on Monday night.
Ndobe said that the teenager lived in the same house as the mother and child.
He would appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court later on Tuesday and would be taken to a place of safety because he was under-age.
