THE case against three people arrested in connection with the gruesome killing of three girls from Makgwareng village in Nobody, Limpopo, was postponed yesterday for further police investigation

The three suspects - Douglas Maitranjera, 30, Ernest Maibeki, 26, and Angelina Moyo, 26 - were arrested on Friday in connection with the murder of Seipati Mampshika, 16, her cousin Refilwe Mampshika, 16, and their friend Kedibone Ledwaba, 15.

The victims, were pupils at Ramathope Secondary School and disappeared on May 2 after they had allegedly gone to a local clinic for family planning.

Seipati's body was found on May 6 in a half-built church in the village, while the bodies of Kedibone and Refilwe were found in the bushes the following day.

All three girls were buried in a joint funeral on Saturday.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said yesterday that the suspects were linked to the crime after several items belonging to the victims were found in their possession. They were remanded in custody and their case was postponed to May 26.

"The suspects will appear today in the Polokwane magistrate's court on a different charge of possession of stolen property," said Mulaudzi.
