ANC takes campaign to the Rand Show

Power cut interferes with Rand Show

THE ANC has set up a stall at the 2011 Rand Show being held at Nasrec, Soweto.

On Sunday ANC Gauteng chairperson Paul Mashatile, who is also Minister of Arts and Culture, visited the party's stall, which was opened by Minister of Correctional Services Nosiviwe Maphisa-Nqakula on the same day.

Mashatile walked around the arena and urged passers-by to make the right choice by voting for the ANC on May 18.

Volunteers Uyanda Mbuli and Arthur Mafokate, who were in high spirits, distributed ANC T-shirts and flyers.

  • A power outage hit parts of southern Johannesburg, forcing hundreds of patrons at the show in Nasrec to go home.

The power went off at about 4pm.

Show organisers said it would allow patrons who had bought tickets yesterday to come today at no charge provided they enter the show grounds before 1pm and show their ticket stub for April 25.
