Thumbs up for Magwaza-Msibi

BELEAGUERED IFP national chairperson Zanele Magwaza-Msibi's aspirations to form her own political party have received blessings from the powerful traditional leaders

Addressing hundreds of Magwaza-Msibi supporters on Saturday at Bhekuzulu township in Vryheid, northern Zululand, one of the respected traditional leaders, Inkosi Bhekumuzi Mthengeni Zulu of Ngenetsheni said they were angry that no one from the IFP bothered to tell them what Magwaza-Msibi had done wrong.

Magwaza-Msibi told her supporters that her heart became sore whenever she saw people who were now jobless after being dismissed for supporting her. She said she had been "loyal" to the IFP since joining when she was 13 years old.

"No one respected our leader like me. I honoured and praised him. But this is how the party repays me."

Magwaza-Msibi is expected to resign from the IFP tomorrow to establish a new party, the National Freedom Party.
