IFP leader denies links with ANC

IFP national chairperson Zanele Magwaza-Msibi has denied accusations that she is surviving on financial support from ANC NEC member Tokyo Sexwale and that she has had a meeting with President Jacob Zuma

Addressing hundreds of people at Okhukho outside Ulundi, Magwaza-Msibi also denied that her husband, Mandla Msibi, was an ANC member.

She said such accusations had only surfaced now that she was hated within the IFP.

Without mentioning anyone by name Magwaza-Msibi said there were IFP leaders who, after all their attempts to "drag my name in the mud" had failed, were now coming up with allegations linking her with the ANC.

"I want to categorically state that I have never received any financial assistance or backing from Sexwale and that I have never held meetings with Zuma," she said.

Magwaza-Msibi said she was IFP at heart and would never leave the party.

She said what was currently happening in the party happened to all other political organisations, but it was how the situation was managed that made a difference.

IFP Youth Brigade chairperson in Ulundi Zakhele Buthelezi vowed that the youth brigade would continue to support Magwaza-Msibi.

"We want to remind you that when a person does not find comfort at home, he leaves that home and builds his own. That's the advice we give and we will back you all the way," said Buthelezi.
