ANC's Simo Mhlongo passes on

THE ANC Far North regional deputy chairman Simo Mhlongo has died, the party's KwaZulu- Natal branch said on Wednesday.

He died on Monday, said Sihle Zikalala, ANC secretary in KZN.

"Mhlongo's political activism started when he became involved in organising and launching the first ANC branch in KwaHlabisa which he served as chairperson," Zikalala said.

At the time of his death he served on the Umhlathuze Water Board. He was also a member of the Umjindi Farming Board.

He is survived by two wives and nine children.
