THE Young Communist League in Gauteng has endorsed its current national secretary Buti Manamela to retain his position.
Manamela's endorsement happened at a YCL Gauteng provincial council held over the weekend.
This comes amid reports that there was a move to replace Manamela with his deputy, Khaye Nkwanyana.
The YCL is to hold its elective conference in Mafikeng from tomorrow.
Recent media reports revealed that there were those within the YCL who wanted Manamela to be removed from his secretarial position because he is now a Member of Parliament.
In turn, Manamela was said to be calling for the amendment of the YCL constitution so that the position of secretary could become part-time.
