Woman's career dream fulfilled at last

"IF I can do it, you can do it too." This is the motto of 28-year-old Johanna Mosima Nkwana, a workplace intern trained by M&M Consulting in partnership with the Services Seta in call centre work.

Nkwana, of Chipana Village in GaMatlala, Limpopo, is one of 20 interns who will receive certificates at an awards ceremony today at African Nest Executive Lodge in Tarlton, Krugersdorp.

She was recruited into the call centre course by the premier's office in Limpopo while she was still in college.

She said she had always dreamt of working as a receptionist for a big corporate company.

Despite her lack of experience, Nkwana passed her aptitude test and was enrolled in the call-contact centre services programme at Tarlton.

She said students were taught telephone skills, team-work and other customer-related courses.

At the moment, Nkwana works as an administration clerk at Eskom's Arnot power station in Mpumalanga.
