6 school pupils hurt in car/taxi crash

Six school pupils between the ages of 6 and 15 years were injured when their car collided with two taxis in Midrand, north of Johannesburg, this morning.

"It appears that the two taxis collided head-on before they crashed into a hatchback car carrying six school kids," Netcare911  spokesman Chris Botha said.

Altogether seven people, including two of the children, both six-years-old, were seriously injured in the accident.

Thirteen others escaped with minor bruises.

The accident occurred on Pretoria road in Midrand at about 7.30am.
