Celebs reach out to poor communities

CELEBRITIES from Generations, Soul City, Rhythm City, Mthunzi.Com and Ihashi  Elimhlophe took Mpumalanga by storm, helping poor communities by repairing schools as part of their 67-minute contribution.

Most of the celebrities arrived on Friday and  visited  vulnerable communities facing abuse,  poverty and  many other negative aspects  in their lives.

They gave shoes to children and seeds to poor  farmers  to mark the first International Nelson  Mandela Day.

The celebrities were the guests of the provincial  department of public works, roads and transport and the  Ubuntu Helping Hand Foundation,  an NGO founded by  Baby Cele-Mabuza.

“I chose Mpumalanga for the activities because  I’m  married here. It is a beautiful place and a  serious tourist  destination,” Cele-Mabuza said.

Ntombi Ngcobo of Ihashi Elimhlophe performed for  those gathered.
