The home affairs department in Krugersdorp is a case in point. I have been to this department for the past four months for a passport and I was humiliated and embarrassed by senior officials.
They asked me countless times if I was a South African citizen yet they have records to show I was born here. They further humiliated me by asking me to ask my late mother where she was born, her date of birth and ID number.
I appeal to the minister and deputy minister to overhaul this shameful ministry.
How many more legitimate South Africans are subjected to this ordeal every day?
