Shongwe Highlanders, who have twice been knocked out in the semifinals of the Selati Super Cup, have vowed to go the extra mile in the lucrative Mpumalanga amateur tournament this year.
Coach Sakie Ngwenya said yesterday that this year they want to see their name engraved on the trophy.
Highlanders host Young Waves in the last 16 of the competition with their sights firmly on the final.
The match will kick off at 3pm at Naas Stadium on Saturday.
Highlanders lost 2-3 to Buffelspruit All Blacks in the semifinal last year and 2-1 to Saints in 2005.
"The spirit is high among the players this year and the team itself is playing as a unit. The guys have been playing together for some time now and they know each other well," Ngwenya said.
Highlanders are solid, from their defence right to their attack, and they have shown some signs of maturity since the tournament started.
Their midfield will be marshalled by Mlungisi Nkosi while striker Sonnyboy Makamo will be looking to increase his five-goal tally to date.

Sunday: Schoemansdal Junior Aces Soccer Field - Langeloop Real Aces v Real Taj (11am); Block C Inter-Milan v Jeppes Cobra (1pm); Mbokodo Wanderous v Jeppes Saints (3pm).
