A foreigner, who accused his wife of having an affair, hacked her to death before committing suicide in Mpumalanga at the weekend.
The couple, from Sbambayana near Bushbuckridge, was heard arguing during the night.
The fierce argument began at midnight and carried on for several hours, said police after gathering information from neighbours and the couple's children.
Police found the bodies of Masengi Ngwenya, 42, and his wife, Alvira Mhlongo, 35, both of unknown nationality.
"The husband accused the wife of sleeping with other men.
"The woman apparently tried to shelter in a roofless house that is still under construction," said the police.
