POSITIVE VIBES: 'Life is good' caps and hats on display. Sowetan is launching a column that will give readers advice on how to deal with life issues

THE following questions are very familiar to many people: How can I get people to like me? How do I bring the best out of my children? How can I live a stress-free life? How can I be successful at what I do? How do I control my anger?

How do I deal with negative and critical people? How do I find my purpose in life? How do I live a life full of happiness? How do I live a good life?

How much would you pay for answers to these questions? Imagine if you could have answers to all these questions and many more for free.

That is the purpose of this weekly Good Living column in the Sowetan that will appear every Tuesday, to help you to bring lasting happiness into your life.

The column will be written by a team of professionals working in various personal development fields. It is part of a nationwide Good LifeCampaign.

These professionals include clinical psychologists, life coaches, counsellors , therapists and social workers.

Some of the exciting topics the column will cover in the coming weeks are: How to increase your self-confidence; how to control your emotions; understanding yourself; maintaining a good relationship with your spouse or partner; tips on reducing stress; 10 ways to motivate yourself for lasting success; how to live life to the fullest; what all parents should teach their children; and how to get rid of bad habits.

Normally, if a person wanted to improve their lives by using popular personal development and self-improvement methods available in the world, then they would have to do the following: pay about R500 an hour for a consultation with a clinical psychologist or a life coach; buy a book or enrol at a university and study for three years and more.

The objectives of the Good Living column and the Good Life Campaign are to give you, the reader, access to the best personal development knowledge and resources in a way that is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to apply.

Every column will be written in a way that allows you to learn a valuable personal development idea, and how you can use this idea to make changes in your life that will give you a brighter future.

So, you want to live a good life? Then start by reading next Tuesday's Good Living column.
