Sexy lingerie for different body shapes

Caring: Ndileka Shuenyane wants women to wear the correct bra size.

Ndileka Shuenyane, 36, a medical doctor by profession, is offering full -figured women a chance to feel sexy in the right underwear.

The owner of Strutt Boutique in Parkhurst says most women wear the wrong bra size, let alone full-figured women who need underwear with extra support.

"I have not always been small bodied," Shuenyane says. "During my university days I was overweight and though I could not afford to buy proper underwear, I knew women who struggled to find the right fit for their big breasts."

She says at her heaviest, her bra cup was a size 38 and she struggled to find nice bras in this size.

"Having worked with women as a doctor and because of my passion for breast cancer awareness, I thought the only way I could instil a sense of confidence in fuller-figured women, was to provide them with proper underwear," she says.

Her boutique stocks G-strings, boy shorts and support panties, which help by providing firmness for those with "bum dimples", flabby stomachs and the unshapely hips.

"I stock a wide variety of bras, from breast-feeding bras to the G-cup size, sports bras, sexy bras and specialised mastectomy bras for cancer survivors who had their breasts removed," says Shuenyane.

She says except for the breast-feeding bras all bras go up to the H-cup size, which caters for women of all different shapes.

"I import my stock from the US, France and England because they make big sizes," she says.

Shuenyane is proud that though the shop only opened in September last year, business has been good.

"I offer a holistic approach. I insist on measuring a client before any purchase and advise them on the various types of underwear we sell.

"I encourage all my client to buy body shapers, which is a necessity for all women of various shapes because 90% of women have dimples that need to be tucked in," she says.

The married mother of one says a bigger bust needs a proper fit, adequate support and the right size bra. She says all these elements changes the silhouette of the female body.

"Lingerie should make a woman feel good about herself and that does not only mean judging how your body looks, but also accepting your body type and embracing it," she adds.

Shuenyane says she wants the next generation of women to love themselves.
