ABOGOLOVA Chicken and Car Wash in Mahwelereng, Limpopo, is a place place that will keep you happy this festive season.

The shisanyama's owner, Jan Masaka Noko, says this is usually the busiest time for his business.

"Locals love this place. We serve the freshest meat around here and the vibe is amazing," Noko says

"People come from the suburbs to chill here. Most of them praise us for our braai tactics, which have the biggest salutary effect on the taste of meat. We only use wood for our fire and we select the best spices."

Noko was recently named SA's Favourite Braaimaster and walked away with R10000.

He beat competitors from across Gauteng, Limpopo, North West and KwaZulu-Natal in the Braaimaster competition.

He says he was not surprised when he was announced the winner.

"My customers always praise my braaiing, so I knew I stood a good chance of winning.

"Now, with the prize money, I will be able to improve my premises to make the shisanyama experience even better for them.

"I will also make sure that my employees become skilled braaiers so that they are able to compete in the Braaimaster competition. I'm thankful to Guinness for running this competition because now everyone know who the best braaier is."

Noko, who has five full-time employees, has been in this business for 10 years.

"Every weekend is a ball," he says. "People love coming here because of our warmth and the kind of people who come here are highly disciplined people who just want to have fun."

Noko says the most popular days are Sundays.
