An ideal retreat for the distressed

IF YOU like spending a weekend in the Nelson Mandela Metro you are the type who loves the outdoors, are looking for a honeymoon spot or just love the finer things in life, says Phinda Mtya-Matlala, in recommending the Kwantu Private Game Reserve.

The place is situated just more than 85km east from Port Elizabeth on the N2 to Grahamstown.

Mtya-Matlala says this place offers peace and tranquility and is ideal for those who need a retreat or want to overcome distress.

Visitors to the reserve can enjoy game drives, a touch farm, a reptile centre and delectable dining. The reserve is home to the village of Sidbury, built by the British Settlers to support the sheep farming community.

The reserve has Kwantu religious facilities and also a Musalaah so that Muslims can observe their religious services while visiting the reserve.

What is really lovely about this place, Mtya says, is that it pays attention to detail and a beautiful natural backdrop that everyone will be talking about for a long time.
