'Choir of god'

AFTER being voted the best gospel group at the recent SABC Crown Gospel Awards, I could understand the adoration with which Pastor Isaac Dagada spoke of the latest album released by his congregation recently.

The Limpopo-based congregation has unleashed the seventh instalment of Worship House, titled It Is Well With My Soul, which the revered pastor brags it has been powered by the Holy Spirit.

Dagada, the group's founder, has hailed the album as a new era for the ensemble, which is based at Shayandima, near Thohoyandou in Venda.

And this could be a Christmas present for the church's followers and the Christian community at large if what the pastor says is anything to go by.

Dagada has described the album as hot and vowed that this could be the beginning of a new dawn for the ensemble musically.

"This song has been done by a lot of people around the world but if you listen to it you will agree that it is completely different because when we were doing the song we were being guided by God," he brags.

Dagada reveals that the seventh instalment of the ensemble is the beginning of more worship and praise music to be brewed by the choir.

"It's like for the past six years we were at school and we have now graduated. It is as if we were learning a subject and have mastered its dynamics.

"We now have passed and are now entering a new era. It's the beginning of the best of Worship House. We can now call ourselves a gospel choir which explains why we were voted the best gospel choir," he says.

Dagada reveals that the album, an 18-track offering, is dished out in sePedi, Tsonga, Venda, Zulu and Sesotho.

The CD was released simultaneously with a DVD.
