Kwesta feels 'sabotaged' after falling victim to sim swop fraud

Rapper Kwesta has been left feeling frustrated and angry by a rival’s attempt to “sabotage” him.

Kwesta’s management told TshisaLIVE on Wednesday that the rapper’s public Whatsapp account was shut down recently‚ after someone phoned Vodacom to attempt a sim swop.

The fraudster’s efforts to gain control over the number apparently failed‚ after the service provider called Kwesta to report the suspicious behaviour.

“The sim swop stopped all communication to Kwesta’s number and so we asked Vodacom to not allow it and to block any requests to do a sim swop over the phone‚” Kwesta’s record label boss Nhlamulo Baloyi said.

Kwesta apologised to fans for the incident and claimed that it was an attempt to “sabotage” him.

Nhlamulo explained that Kwesta’s comments came after the number that requested the sim swop was allegedly tracked to someone in the industry.

“Our only focus was getting the Whatsapp line up again‚ which it will be on Wednesday afternoon. We don’t have time to entertain childish games‚” Nhlamulo said.
