'Penny Penny owes me'

Shangaan disco king Penny Penny is involved in a bitter split with his manager.

The legendary musician who recently turned into a reality TV star with his show Papa Penny Ahee! on Mzansi Magic is accused by his manager Lerato Manaka of owing her R205000 in unpaid managerial and public relations fees dating back from June.

"We signed a contract that was set to end next year. I have worked with him and did my best to build this name that he has today but he has not paid me a cent," she fumed.

Manaka said according to her contract with the star, she was entitled to 20% of every gig, performance shows and endorsements and should receive a share of his salary as an ANC councillor at the municipality in Giyani, Limpopo.

She said the star did not pay her anything from what he made in Papa Penny Ahee!, his hit reality show.

"I learnt that he got paid R300000 for the show in December and did not give me anything. He was also paid R60000 for a recent gig in Limpopo and I didn't get anything too. This is not calculating the smaller gigs that he had.

"He refuses to pay me anything and it's not fair to me as a mother and a wife because I leave my home every morning saying I am going to work."

Manaka said she could not reach Penny Penny as he had blocked her calls.

In an open letter she posted on her social media pages yesterday, Manaka accused him of being "hard to work with".

"Honestly speaking you are a hard man to work with, you burned so many relationships for me and my company."

In his defence Penny Penny flipped the script and accused Manaka of attempting to use his status to advance herself.

"I gave her money for all the jobs she said she did for me otherwise if she believes I owe her she could have gone and opened a case against me."
