SABC 1's Uzalo is on the hunt for young film-makers

Six young film-makers stand the chance to work on SABC 1’s hit telenovela Uzalo.

The production company that produces Uzalo has joined forces with The Durban Film Office (DFO) to launch its annual trainee programme for young film-makers from Durban.

Interns are required for the various areas of film-making including sound mixing‚ camera assistant‚ make-up and hair standby assistant‚ the art department‚ wardrobe and scriptwriting.

“This training is in line with our vision to grow the Durban film industry‚” said Toni Monty‚ Head of the DFO‚ in a statement.

“An important part of the development of the film industry hub in the City‚ is to ensure that people are trained to support the production houses that are looking at using Durban as a base for production. This is the second year that we are running this training programme‚ we are very pleased with the outcomes of the first cycle of training‚ and we look forward to welcoming more skilled film technicians into the fold.”
