Babes Wodumo and West Ink Records have issued an apology to a slew of fans who were left disappointed over the weekend after the singer failed to pitch for an event at Scrapyard Lounge based in Newcastle‚ KZN.

Taking to her Instagram account‚ the Wololo hitmaker shared an apology statement from her record label‚ West Ink Records‚ which claims that “unforeseen logistical difficulties” made it impossible for Babes to make it to the event.

“We would like to extend our most profound and sincere apologies on Babes Wodumo’s failure to show up at last night’s show‚” the statement reads.

Unforeseen logistical difficulties saw all the artist’s efforts to make it to the show defeated. The situation was beyond our human ability and we beg for your understanding and forgiveness in not honouring the event and we will make sure that a similar situation does not happen in the future‚” the label added.

However‚ it seems this apology has not been well-received by the event’s organisers and the owner of Scrapyard Lounge‚ Lepulane Mathaila‚ who has labelled it “painful and unprofessional‚” before revealing that West Ink Records have since not made contact with them‚ following Babes’ no-show.

“We paid her in full‚ we organised their accommodation including for her crew also‚” he told local site Zalebs.
