Hlubi Mboya talks wedding plans

Actress Hlubi Mboya has opened up about her upcoming nuptials.

The “Rhythm City” actress has revealed plans to host a lavish Xhosa traditional wedding ceremony in October.

Mboya jokes that she and her future hubby Kirsten Arnold have no plans for a traditional Western ceremony as weddings are very expensive.

“I’m a traditionalist at the end of the day. I’m Xhosa, you know. I love bringing that back and just reminding myself, being proud and its family, and its culture”, Hlubi points out.

Worried about the biological clock ticking, the 37-year-old bubbly actress plans to start working on making little ones soon and hopes to have at least three.

Back on TV screens

The actress who made a name for herself as an HIV-positive domestic worker on Isidingo took a three year break before she returned to TV is excited about the new role of Thandeka Dandala on the TV soap

“It’s completely different to Nandipha. I think the fans are going to appreciate that. I appreciate that. It’s refreshing to me”, Hlubi explains.

Charity run

Hlubi Mboya will participate in this year’s Wings for Life World Run.

Taking place in Cape Town on 3 May, the race aims to raise funds for the Wings for Life Foundation and research into curing traumatic spinal cord injury. Other local celebrities joining the race include rally champion Gugu Zulu and actress Vanessa Haywood.
